6 mm plywood (serie1)
The study of wooden lamps led to experimentation with laser cutting technology. The first birch plywood furniture designs were made for TOTEM in 1996-1997. At that time, laser cutting technology was only able to cut wood up to 6 mm, and the system of interlocking joints based on the tension of the components was developed. This system created stable and solid designs despite the very thin elements.
